About NJ AIDE
Built by fundraisers, for fundraisers.
NJ AIDE exists because the people doing the work of philanthropy deserve a space to think through AI together — honestly, critically, and without the sales pitch.
Our mission
NJ AIDE — the New Jersey AI in Development and Engagement community — was founded on a simple premise: the nonprofit and philanthropic sector needs its own space to explore artificial intelligence on its own terms.
We are not a vendor showcase. We are not a hype machine. We are a peer community where development officers, communications professionals, program staff, and nonprofit leaders can share what they're actually experiencing — the wins, the failures, the ethical questions, and the practical experiments.
AI is moving fast. The pressure to adopt it is real. But so are the risks of moving without intention. NJ AIDE creates the conditions for thoughtful, grounded, community-led learning.
Why this community exists
Peer-driven, not vendor-driven
Every conversation is led by fundraisers. No sponsored sessions, no product demos disguised as education.
Honest about complexity
We hold space for skepticism, ethical concerns, and uncertainty — not just enthusiasm.
Rooted in New Jersey
Built for the specific context of NJ's nonprofit ecosystem — its funders, its communities, its culture.
Practical and applied
We focus on what people are actually doing with AI in their day-to-day work, not theoretical futures.

Your Name
Founder & Host, NJ AIDE
NJ AIDE was founded by a New Jersey-based philanthropy professional with years of experience in development, donor engagement, and nonprofit communications.
After noticing a gap — lots of AI hype, very little honest peer conversation in the sector — the idea for NJ AIDE took shape: a community-first space where fundraisers could learn from each other without the noise.
